The city where young adults spend their summers could be a good place for a prospective home buyer, according to a recent report.
In a survey of more than 1,200 prospective home buyers conducted by real estate brokerage Cushman & Sun, the city of Houston, Texas, came out on top.
According to the study, the survey found that nearly 80 percent of respondents who said they were interested in buying a home were looking to live in Houston.
The study also found that a large percentage of those surveyed are looking to move out of the city and into a more desirable location.
In the survey, nearly one in five respondents said they would consider relocating to Houston if their city was in the top five best cities for young adult home buyers.
The survey was conducted for Cushmans.
The study said that the survey findings were supported by a number of other studies, including one conducted by a University of Houston student who wrote a thesis on the city.
The students report that the city has a large number of high-paying jobs in tech, entertainment and health care and has strong cultural, educational and job mobility, according the report.
The survey was published Monday.
