NFL season will begin with a big home game for the Cleveland Browns, and that means the first preseason game will be at FirstEnergy Stadium.
The Browns opened training camp on Thursday and will kick off their preseason with a preseason game Saturday at 1:00 p.m.
That means the Browns will play their first preseason home game at 1 p.g.s. on Saturday, Aug. 7, 2018 at First Energy Stadium, a venue they played their first game at in 2016.
In a tweet, FirstEnergy President David Clements said the Browns plan to play their preseason opener at First on Saturday at 11:30 a.m., the same time that the first full practice will be held at the facility.
This is a big week for us, and we want to make sure our players have the best possible preparation for the first time.
FirstEnergy Stadium is a facility in the heart of downtown Cleveland.
The Browns practice at the new facility at First of August, the Browns season opener at home.
First Energy Stadium was built in 2015 by the Cleveland Cavaliers, who also own and operate The Ohio State University.
The Cavaliers played their inaugural home game in the new stadium on Nov. 3, 2020, and the stadium has hosted a number of major NFL and NCAA football games.
The stadium was first used for NFL games in 2019 and 2020, when the Browns played in the inaugural season at NRG Stadium in Houston.
